Non ci sono più i mercati di una volta
Notizie non certo brillanti dalla macroeconomia USA ma Wall Street (come ormai ci ha abituato) ignora.
Philadelphia FED: dato molto negativo. E ieri indice Empire State Manufacturing New York che non è stato da meno. Ma il mercato ovviamente ignora. Guardate questo grafico e rendetevi conto per l’ennesima volta della realtà dei fatti.
May Philly Fed Business Outlook: -5.2 vs. +2.4 expected, +1.3 previous month. Missing expectations and falling into contraction. Yesterday we hade Empire Fed doing the same and Industrial Production pointing in the same direction.
Ma a fare eco a questi dati anche i sussidi disoccupazione, ai massimi delle ultime 6 settimane.
(Bloomberg) — More Americans than projected filed applications for unemployment benefits last week, which may raise concern the slowdown in economic growth is prompting an increase in firings.
Jobless claims jumped by 32,000 to 360,000 in the week ended May 11, exceeding all forecasts in a Bloomberg survey of economists and the most since the end of March, Labor Department figures showed today in Washington. A Labor Department spokesman said no state provided information explaining the surge in applications which was the biggest since the aftermath of superstorm Sandy in November. (Source)
